The 13th is the thirteenth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on June 13th, 2027, through Republic Records.

Background[]

After releasing her twelft studio album The Afterlife, singer-songwriter Taylor Swift took a year long break from making any new music, after her marriage to Travis Kelce. On January 1st 2027, Swift posted on all her social media platforms that she'd be realeasing her long awaited thirteenth album, in which she would discuss more about later that year in March. Swift was also known for colour-coding her previous albums to a different colour, this one being multicoloured.

Announcement[]

On March 13th 2027, Swift released the cover for her mysterious and new thirteenth album, which featured her outside in what looked like a field, with trees in the background. "After two years I am releasing my brand new album called The 13th which will be releasing on June 13th 2027!" Swift had said the following day. This also proved that she was indeed making new music during 2026.

The following week, Swift announced that since 13 was her lucky number, the album would feature 13 tracks, going through each of her 12 albums and a different genre. The tracks featured titles that had one of her albums, followed by and album she wrote and version, for example "1989's Version" or "Reputations Version". This got fans excited.

Release and Promotion[]

On June 13th 2027, 6 versions of the album became available for purchase. The seafoam green water edition, the golden horse edition, the violet fireworkes edition, the autumn red edition, the ocean blue edition, and the black snake edition. The standard multicolour edition featured all 13 tracks while the other 6 featured a recording of Swift and all her ideas and thoughts on the album.

On June 5th, the album was available to presave on spotify.

Her albums Midnights, The Tortured Poets Department, and The Afterlife, featured deluxe editions released at 3am, 2am and 1am, and fans suspected a countdown. The countdown was officially confirmed when Swift had said that each track on her album would feature a different genre, going through each of her albums.
